The Department of Public Feelings is a fictional civic institution with a very real purpose.

We issue garments, records, notices, and domestic equipment for unofficial feelings: the ones that do not fit neatly into conversation, but may fit very well on a tee, beside a bed, on a refrigerator, or in a private ledger.

Each object is filed under a different office, bureau, or division. Taken together, they form a public record of private conditions: snack shortages, delayed replies, unresolved matters, required rest periods, tenderness deficits, and other findings not otherwise addressed.

On the matter of origins

The Department was opened by one person with too many feelings and a working knowledge of bureaucratic aesthetics.

It is a small, independently run design office. Items are considered carefully, produced to order, and issued when the Department finds them necessary.

This is not a high-volume operation. It is a public service of limited scope.

On the matter of issuance

The Department currently maintains the following offices:

Standard Issue
Directives, findings, and other statements suitable for public wear.

Office of Snack Affairs
Credentials, inspection notices, and morale-ration-related equipment.

Emotional Records Division
Ledgers, notices, and filing tools for matters withheld, retained, deferred, or moved elsewhere.

Domestic Field Office
Objects for rest periods, soft landings, domestic negotiations, and after-hours operations.

Bureau des Corps
Private findings concerning bodies, appetite, pleasure, and other matters best handled with discretion.

On the matter of production

Department objects are produced to order. Production and delivery estimates appear on each product page and at checkout. Items in the same order may arrive separately, depending on their assigned fulfillment route.

No inventory warehouse is maintained. This reduces unnecessary stock, though it may require a brief period of patience.
